Debate: Reforms are needed at home to get closer to the EU

North Macedonia should make efforts to reform the system in the country in order to become a member of the EU. This was the conclusion of the policy dialogue event “New geopolitical developments and the impact on North Macedonia” which was held yesterday in Skopje with the citizens of the Skopje region.

The findings of the annual report on fundamental rights of the Fundamental Rights Agency of the European Union (FRA) were presented and discussed at a public debate in the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia on Friday. This report is produced for the fourth year in a row by the Institute for European Politics, as a national research center for FRA in North Macedonia.

Forum Europaeum 2023: The EU membership is not an external political goal, but an internal one

Both at the time of the Thessaloniki Summit 20 years ago and today, domestic reforms are the way that the countries of the Western Balkans can help each other on the way to the EU because the membership is not only a foreign political goal but also a domestic policy.
