RRPP: (In)equality in social protection: multi-level analysis of intersectionality in social assistance provision – A comparative study

EU Acquis and sectoral policies: RRPP: (In)equality in social protection: multi-level analysis of intersectionality in social assistance provision – A comparative study

The European Policy Institute and the Centre for Social Research Analitika (BiH) started with the implementation of the project “(In)equality in social protection: multi-level analysis of intersectionality in social assistance provision  – A comparative study”.  The research project will be implemented in the period August 2014-July 2015, and is supported by the Regional Research Promotion Program.

This research looks at intersections of (in)equality in social protection in Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, by conducting a multilevel analysis on and within the individual, structural, and symbolic levels. It aims to identify whether and to what extent is there a miss-match between the real needs of social assistance recipients in relation to self-identified points for (in)equality, and compare these with those in the public policies and those constructed and perceived in the society. Aside from its academic contribution towards greater understanding of intersectionality and social protection, the project aims to translate findings into policy recommendations, in order to make a contribution towards improved public policies on intersectional discrimination.

The following project outputs will be produced: book, academic papers, policy briefs, comparative paper, and infographics.
