Support for further development of the model of the Western Balkans staged accession to the European Union
Info: This project aims to support further and comprehensive analytical work on the detailed development of the staged accession model co-designed by CEP Belgrade and CEPS Brussels. In order to achieve the set goal, the Project will prepare a series of issue papers responding to the feedback received from stakeholders during the first promotional and advocacy efforts conducted by the partner organizations that designed the model. In achieving the results, the project will count on the valuable expertise of prominent regional researchers, as well as individual members of the network of think tanks and EU policy research centers in South East Europe – Think for Europe Network (TEN) and the established contacts and cooperation with research organizations in the EU countries.
The European Policy Institute will develop an issue paper on the potential application of the staged accession model in the Republic of North Macedonia and contribute to the development of an issue paper on the staged accession model in relation to the regional cooperation initiatives, and have a representative at the Sounding Board tasked to hold discussions, exchange ideas and consult on issue paper drafts and provide expertise according to the needs of the issue papers drafting process.
