{"id":24289,"date":"2023-03-31T16:16:15","date_gmt":"2023-03-31T14:16:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/epi.org.mk\/?p=24289"},"modified":"2024-10-14T03:03:34","modified_gmt":"2024-10-14T01:03:34","slug":"epi-partners-with-university-of-cork-on-e2-5-million-erc-grant-for-research-on-european-integration-and-citizens-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epi.org.mk\/sq\/post\/24289?lang=en","title":{"rendered":"EPI part of a winning \u20ac2.5 million ERC proposal for research on European integration and citizens&#8217; rights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"auto\">We are happy to share that EPI is part of a winning\u00a0proposal for a European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant won by\u00a0Professor\u00a0Dagmar Schiek from the University of Cork in Ireland.\u00a0The ERC is a highly competitive European Union research grant of \u20ac2.5 million\u00a0awarded to established research leaders to lead cutting-edge research.\u00a0Professor\u00a0Schiek, Synnott Family Chair in EU Law and Vice Dean for Research in the School of Law at University College Cork (UCC), will lead the project <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucc.ie\/en\/news\/ucc-academic-awarded-prestigious-erc-advanced-grant.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RIGHTS-TO-UNITE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">The project aims to generate a new socio-legal theory of European integration, covering the EU and its neighbours, and exploring its viability through qualitative research.\u00a0Led by Professor Schiek, the researchers will investigate whether and how citizens experience European integration through liberal\/economic rights, social rights and digital rights, gauging how far EU-derived rights support democratic, socially equitable and inclusive societies.\u00a0The research will focus on four EU countries (Ireland, Czech Republic, Greece and Sweden) and four neighbourhood states (Northern Ireland, Norway, North Macedonia and Georgia).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">EPI is the\u00a0RIGHTS-TO-UNITE\u00a0partner in North Macedonia.
