On August 1, 2018, the European Policy Institute - Skopje (EPI) started implementing the project "Civic Debate on NATO", funded by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Macedonia.
The overall goal of the project is to contribute to NATO accession through evidence-based debate and arguments that will improve citizens' understanding of Macedonia's NATO membership.
A.1 Preparation of short public policy documents
EPI will open a public call for preparation of policy briefs on the expected effects of the Republic of Macedonia's accession to NATO. The briefs will need to include policy recommendations or options, and they will be presented at a public debate. Within this call, support for 2 (two) briefs is foreseen.
A.2 Organizing a public debate
Upon completion of the research, in December 2018 a public debate will be organized for presentation of the findings of the research. Apart from the authors of the briefs, participation of representatives from institutions related to the accession of the Republic of Macedonia to NATO, as well as the general public is foreseen.
Duration of the project: 1 August 2018 - 31 December 2018
Budget: 399.010 MKD
